Uncomfortable is based on the idea that the body is a highly restricted means of expression, since it is highly mediated by culture. Among other things, through the clothes that cover us – or not – we express the social pressure we embody. Thus, Uncomfortable recreates various actions in public spaces to explore from an intersectional perspective some agents of socialization that participate in the creation and regulation of our gendered bodies. Starting from the premise that spaces also have gender, this series seeks to generate a reflection on the norms implicit in certain contexts and the way in which women experience the different spaces we walk through and inhabit, as well as the strategies of dressing aimed at controlling them.
