Community and Participatory Projects
Research-Creation and Publications
Working from a research-creation perspective, she understands art as a way of producing knowledge, generating dialogue and building community. Her doctoral thesis in Art Education at Concordia University was a collaborative project exploring how visual culture influences women’s identities through collective creative processes involving textiles, photography and performance.
Beyond academia, her workshops and participatory projects involve primary, secondary and university students, artists, immigrants and participants from diverse communities who engage with the social and cultural contexts in which her projects take place.
Her pedagogical approach is horizontal and collaborative, encouraging experimentation, dialogue and collective meaning-making. Activities can be conducted in Spanish, English or French.
